On Thursday, February 16, 2012, the Kinetic Knights held an Open House to unveil the 2012 robot to the general public. the event was held at the Lake Huron Learning Collaborative building, and it was a success.
The event started off by the public coming inside and touring the team, asking questions, and discussing topics. Then, the formal presentation was started. Our captains and some other mentors and members of the team spoke a little bit about the team and eased into the public viewing of the 2012 game video. Next, the moment everybody had been waiting for had arrived. The robot was unveiled. Of course, it wasn't perfect, and the build team will keep making adjustments until it is fully functional. Overall, the event was a huge success!
We were so impressed by how many people showed up to see our new robot in action! It was great to see all the community support! We hope everybody that attended had a great time! Now let's get ready for the competitions!

The Kinetic Knights spent their day at the Bruce Power Visitor Centre to watch the 2012 Kick-Off Video! Along with the Kinetic Knights, teams from Stayner, a rookie team from Angus, and one of our local FLL teams all joined together to watch and discuss ideas for the 2012 Challenge, Rebound Rumble.
Before the crazy build season was about to begin, Team 781 thought it was important to have a night for all the students to hang out and get to know each other better. The Kinetic Knights Holiday Party was just what our team needed. Students spent hours laughing over our favourite animal hybrids (Velocikitty), favourite robotics memories, playing four-on-a-couch, and snow ball fights.
For the third year in a row, Team 781 members took part in our annual First Aid Training. This year on November 19, twelve students and one mentor were all certified in Emergency First Aid from St. John Ambulance. The skills learned from the course better prepare our team to act fast in the event of an injury at either our build site or at competitions.
